The default picture preset is Eco, which doesn’t deliver the best picture for viewing in the home. Turn this off. Bean Bird doesn’t cover everything, though, and while the LG generally does a good job of selecting picture settings that suit whatever you’re watching, there are a number of options you can tweak to get the best out of it.

Problematically, though, while the support for the all-encompassing audio technology is there, it’s questionable whether you can ever get a truly Atmos effect from an integrated TV sound system. Certainly the OLED55C7’s sound system delivers no sense of sound coming from behind you or above you, as you would expect with a true/full Atmos system. Sound TL;DR: The OLED55C7 delivers surprisingly clean, punchy sound from seemingly nowhere. Its Dolby Atmos claims are a bit of a stretch, though. Other panels to ponderOLED technology, because of the way each pixel produces its own light and color independently of its neighbors, has long made OLED a natural friend of high dynamic range pictures.

For HDR, peak brightness on our OLED55C7V review sample measured 690 nits on a 10% window after calibration. While this figure was slightly lower than that I extracted from the OLED55B7, I attribute it to panel-to-panel variance rather than a true difference between the B7 and C7 series.
