About this deal
Committing further to minimise our impact on the planet we have moved our packaging to 100% curb-side recyclable.
Some coffee brands, apparently cheaper, offer a product that contains only a millesimal quantity of Blue Mountain beans.
These all meet the Fairtrade Standards that ensure that farmers and workers are treated and paid fairly, as well as meeting Fairtrade’s environmental standards that ensure production is sustainable, living up to our slogan “Coffee with a Conscience”. With over 30 years experience delivering 100 variations of speciality roasts direct to your door, we are connoisseurs of variety, flavour and provenance.
Since that time coffee harvesting and processing standards have been raised exponentially, and our Blue Mountain Blend exhibits this in its complexity and natural sweetness. Typica - Thought to be the original variety of arabica from which other varieties such as Bourbon, Mundo Novo and Maragogype have mutated from. Grown at altitudes of 900-2350 metres, Jamaican coffee plants (of mostly arabica typica variety), thrive in the mountainous conditions of the majestic Blue Mountains - some of the highest peaks in the Caribbean. Its fame has led to many imitators, and Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee is now carefully protected by the Coffee Industry Board of Jamaica.Limiting production to these areas means yields are lower, more exclusive and subsequently expensive.
