About this deal

Not much if anything left behind, and the internal dust extraction paths left the velcro pads and internals pretty clean.

This gives the duct tape the same inside diameter as the pipe, so the pipe fits snugly into the duct tape.To make sure we are still recommending the best products for your needs, we recently reviewed this story to make sure it is still accurate and that we stand by what we wrote. If you have a lot of small to medium sanding projects on your hands, Bosch’s 5-Inch Random Orbit Sander is great to have around. There’s a marked difference between the way the Bosch handles dust with discs containing holes, and discs without holes. The Bosch ROS20VS is designed to give even the most exacting finish carpenters, cabinet makers, woodworkers and others exactly what they want, beginning with great performance and results. The GEX125-150 AVE is the stand out with nearly no vibration, good to great ergonomics, and good dust extraction.

All you have to do is align the eight holes that run in an inner ring of the pad to the corresponding holes in the sanding disc and then press firmly. Don’t stress about following the grain, like you need to with a belt sander, orbital sander, or sanding block. Bosch ROS20VSC 5" VS Palm Random Orbit Sander Kit Bosch ROS20VSC 5" VS Palm Random Orbit Sander Kit.This allowed me to test out how well the sander worked on a handful of 5 x 25-inch surfaces (each with pronounced grain) and on edges, as I’d cut a 90-degree notch into the shelves to allow them to sit alongside hanging shelves I’d already installed. Unlike its little brother there is no rubber gasket when you go to attach it to a vacuum, though there is the more standard ribbed connector design, and its much easier to attach. However, had I known about this when I bought my Makita BO5041, I would have absolutely bought this instead – its lighter, has proper sized dust collection port built, and performs at least as well.

The circular configuration also made it easy to get the sanding pad directly into the narrow notches and I was able to glide the sander across the ¼-inch-wide edges without any issues of being off balance. The pad affixes to the sander with the help of 35,000 long-life hooks (similar to Velcro) which ensure a firm grip that never falters.

Although they’re both Bosch Blue (Bosch Green is DIY for most of the world, in the US I think a lot of that goes under the Skil brand), and thus aimed at trade, these two tools are kinda at the opposite ends of the spectrum. So there you go, two Bosch sanders and yet again (if you’ve watched my previous Bosch video reviews on their router or tracksaw) I sound like a Bosch fanboy. The optimized combination of pad orbit and rotation delivers fast removal and a well-blended, ultra-smooth finish. Sure, you could do the dishes by hand, but it’s a heck of a lot more efficient (and a lot less exhausting) to let an electronic device handle it for you. Anchored into the back of the sander, just above the circular body, is the microfilter dust canister that twists off for easy cleaning or to attach the device to a vacuum hose via the included adapter.
